Apple Ipad 9.7 review: Specs, Price and Everything Else You Should Know

Apple Ipad 9.7 review

The latest 9.7-inch iPad is a truly wonderful tablet and is essentially a Pro in a budget. If you are all right with missing out on some of the hi-technical goodies on the iPad Pro, this humble device delivers much the same experience for around half the price. Though not a huge upgrade over last year’s 9.7-inch model, this tablet will make you glad you waited. This Ipad now comes with added compatibility with Apple Pencil and boasts a brilliant retina display. Though it doesn’t add much to the entry level Ipad it does make an already great device a better buy than ever. Avail exciting offers and crazy deals at the target Ipad sale.

Apple Ipad 9.7

The Ipad is special both from a price point and features and spec perspective. Buyers are guaranteed that they will not find a better tablet for this price. The introduction of the Apple Pencil has given ardent note takers, students, and artists for annotation and artwork, another reason to rejoice as their favorite portable work station has upped its game and has become even better. It lacks the bigger and better screens that are offered by the Pro along with quad speakers and smart connector found on the pricier variants.

Apple Ipad 9.7 Display

The Ipad has an impressive 24.64 centimeters (9.7-inch) of screen size with a Backlit LED Display and IPS Technology. The stylish gadget has Capacitive touchscreen with scratch and Fingerprint-resistant Oleophobic Coating. The display has 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution and 264 ppi pixel density.

Apple Ipad 9.7 Camera

The device is equipped with an 8 MP primary camera which is loaded with hi-tech features like autofocus, panorama, HDR and exposure control. Additionally, standard burst mode, tap to focus, timer mode, f/2.4 aperture, five-element lens, hybrid IR filter, backside illumination, and auto image stabilization is also packed. Face detection, photo geotagging, video image stabilization, slow motion (120 fps), 3X video zoom, video geotagging and a 1.2MP front-facing camera make this Ipad even more special.

Apple Ipad 9.7 Operating (OS)

The operating system of all devices from Apple has iOS though it might not be the best, yet the v10 operating system is powerful with the A10 Fusion chip that powered the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, and which is close to the A10X chip in the new iPad Pro range, with 64-bit Architecture which is again combined with Embedded M9 Co-processor and 32GB internal memory fairs better than Android. The 2 GB of Ram powers the lighter operating system. Since most apps still use only one core at a time, the performance of the single core is a special highlight.

Apple Ipad 9.7 Build Quality, Body and Design

The Ipad looks slick and has a front glass, slim and a light aluminum body with stylus support and weighs around 469 g (Wi-Fi) / 478 g (LTE) (1.05 lb).

Apple Ipad 9.7 Battery and Performance

The multi-functional tablet has a non-removable 32.4mAH lithium-polymer battery. The battery backup though solid is slightly behind the newer Ultrabooks or Dell XPS. 3D gaming consumes a lot of battery life in just one hour. The CPU is Quad-core 2.34 GHz (2x Hurricane + 2x Zephyr) and the GPU offers PowerVR Series7XT Plus (six-core graphics). For general graphing and calculus, drawing organic structures and sketching figures in physics. This is also great for Engineering drawing and an overall great entertainment platform.

Apple Ipad 9.7 Pricing

The Ipad 9.7 is available in 4G or WiFi-only configurations of 32GB, 128GB and 256GB with prices originally starting from $599 the starting price now hovers around $329. Apple Ipad 9.7 Comments

With this multi-utility option in the market, one can now easily forget cheap laptops. Apple is pitching the iPad 9.7 as a superior tablet at a great price and the future of computing in the classroom – and there’s certainly some truth to its claim. One big turn off for potential buyers might be the extra cost one has to bear for the addition of the Pencil. It could be cheaper for those in education, and there is the Logitech Crayon available for almost half the price (and less functionality), but it’s something worth bearing in mind when buying the new iPad.

User reviews

Value: “Perfect low-cost iPad.”

Ease of use: “Overall easy to use and good speed.”

Size: “Nice and quick good size”

Battery: “Best iPad new lightweight good battery best tablet”

“The new iPad is an iPad Pro on a budget. You get many of the same features for a fraction of the price, and that makes it hugely compelling.”

“The most affordable iPad ever brings brilliant upgrades.”

“The Ipad for everyone.”

“The new iPad 9.7 is a great tablet for those that want just that: a tablet. It’s shorn of the power and performance of the iPad Pro range, but the addition of Apple Pencil compatibility and the A10 chipset bring it pretty close, and for a lot less cash. It irks that you need to buy the Pencil separately to unlock a key feature, and design-wise we’re seeing something pretty old-school here… but for the price it’s hard to criticize too much, and this is still one of the best tablets on the market.”
